Converting a Choicer Voicer video?

Keep the original OGV for desktop Dub Mode, and use the MP4 copy for browser playback, editing or sharing.

Why convert?

Why convert OGV to MP4?

OGV is useful for Godot and Choicer Voicer Dub Mode, but Theora is not widely supported by modern browsers. MP4 with H.264 video is a more practical format for browser playback, phones, editors and sharing.

Quick workflow

How to convert OGV to MP4

  1. Choose an OGV file or drop it into the converter.
  2. Start the local conversion and keep this tab open while the video is encoded.
  3. Download the H.264 MP4 when the result is ready.
  4. Use the MP4 for browser playback or editing; preserve the original OGV for the desktop Pack.

Format guide

Why doesn’t my browser play OGV?

Most OGV files contain Theora video in an Ogg container. Browser support for that codec is much less consistent than MP4/H.264 support, so a video can work in Godot while failing to load in a browser. Conversion creates a separate web-friendly copy without replacing the original file.

Quality notes

Does converting OGV to MP4 reduce quality?

Because the video is re-encoded, conversion can introduce a small quality change. The default H.264 preset is designed as a practical browser copy, while the original OGV remains available for the game. The MP4 may also be smaller because H.264 is generally more compression-efficient than Theora.

Quick answers

OGV to MP4 FAQ

Why does my browser not play OGV?

OGV commonly contains Ogg Theora video, which has much weaker native browser support than modern MP4 playback. Converting it to H.264 MP4 makes it easier to play in current browsers and editing tools.

Does this converter upload my OGV?

No. Your OGV is read and converted locally in your browser. It is not uploaded to this website or Cloudflare R2.

Will the MP4 keep the original duration and resolution?

The converter keeps the source video dimensions and timeline by default. The output is re-encoded, so small differences can occur depending on the source media.

Can I use the MP4 in Choicer Voicer?

The MP4 is intended for browsers, phones, editors and sharing. Keep the original OGV for desktop Dub Mode when the Pack requires the game’s OGV asset.

Can I play the converted file directly on this site?

The first version provides a local download. You can use the downloaded MP4 with compatible browser tools or open supported Packs through Play Online.
